Speak
Your voice is a megaphone - and even more so in this day of Internet communication. One word from you can set in motion a string of events that literally changes the life of an Iraqi child on the other side of the world. So never underestimate the power of a blog post, an email to your friends, or a letter to your local newspaper editor. If you tell our story - or better yet, tell their story - we truly believe the world can change. Words have power. We must wield them well.
Garage Sale
Gather some stuff. Put up signs. Sell said stuff. Send the money to Iraqi children who need heart surgeries to survive! It’s all junk you don’t need anyway!
Car Wash
Water, soap, dirty cars + loads of fun and loud music in a grocery store parking lot = hundreds of dollars to Iraqi children!
Intern or Volunteer
Got skills? Got heart? Consider interning with us in Northern Iraq. Volunteer opportunities are even available without leaving your state. Whether your into fashion or film; numbers or nursing, we promise we can put you to work in a way that will build your resume, utilize your skillset, and do the preemptive love thing for those in Iraq who suffer. Raise Money for Iraqi Children
Everyone from 4th graders to fortysomethings can get involved in creative fund-raising projects to show your refusal to turn a blind eye to the suffering people of Iraq. Do a lemonade stand and send us your $40. Design a t-shirt, get it printed, and sell it to all your friends. Do an “Iraqi Flee” walkathon and raise money for every mile you walk in rememberance of the millions of Kurds who were forced from their homes by Saddam Hussein and the over one million displaced Iraqis from the current conflict. The point is, you can do something to make a difference - and you don’t need our approval to dream up something significant! Write for more fund-raiser ideas.
Sing a Song
So you’re with the band. The stereotype says that you are either trying to score chicks or you are trying to change the world. You want to be the next Bono? Iraqi children and their families need your stage. Will you share your stage? Be one of the few musicians openly trying to promote something charitable for the Middle East. Would you tell their story, speak out, and call for action? We believe music - and certainly musicians - might just be able to change the world. Write here about forming an official partnership with us to do Preemptive Love for the people of Iraq.
Host a House Party
Invite some friends. Buy some chips. Download and share this three minute profile video of an Iraqi kid needing heart surgery. Tell some stories (we’ll help you out). Dream up a way to get involved. Then get involved.
Represent on Campus
College students are frequently the forerunners in social action and cultural change. We’re appealing to you to get involved. Iraq will not find peace unless thousands of us choose a path of active love on their behalf. Help us breath life back into statistics who were actually people in the first place.
